The Man in the High Castle

Amazon is diving into the original content market, and The Man in the High Castle is their newest show. Based on a novel by Philip K. Dick, the show is about an alternate timeline in which the Allies lost World War II to the Axis Powers. As a result, Japan and Germany rule over America.

While an interesting premise for a TV show, part of Amazon’s ad campaign included plastering New York City subway trains with Nazi and Imperial Japan flags and symbols. I could definitely think of a sizable demographic of New York City that would be taken aback by this idea. The Twittersphere was quick to react to this marketing mishap.
