After nearly eight years with my George Costanza-esque, overstuffed wallet that bulged out of every jean pocket, I decided to find a new wallet with a minimalist feel. I wanted something with a smaller design language that also looked cool. After hours on Amazon, I came across the Serman Brands RFID Blocking Bifold Thin Minimalist Front Pocket Wallet w/ Money Clip.
This leather wallet is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Because it substitutes a money slot with a money clip, the wallet is thinner and narrower than a standard bifold. It also blocks RFID, which will protect your information from being stolen.
As mentioned above, this wallet looks really sleek. In the two months that I’ve used this wallet, I’ve already had several colleagues and cashiers commenting on the unique look whenever I pull it out during payment. The specific model I chose came in three colors; California Desert, Texas Brown, and Charcoal Black. I’ve used both the Charcoal Black and Texas Brown. I ended up gifting the Charcoal Black and keeping the Texas Brown.
Side note: There are more colors than listed here, but I believe that those not pictured below have a slight variance in design, which includes having the ID slot on the outside instead of inside the wallet.
On the front, there is a quick-access slot for your most used credit card.
On the inside of the front flap are 2 more slots.
In the middle is a money clip for your cash. If for some reason you don’t want it, you can slide the money clip right out of your wallet. That said, I like to keep it on just in case I need cash. Plus, it adds stability to the spine of the wallet.
On the inner-right side of the wallet is a slot for your ID with a thumb opening in the middle you can use to push your card out. Sometimes, humidity will make it hard to pull the ID out but this gets better as it stretches with use.
Also on the back is perhaps one of the most unique aspects of this wallet. There is a slot in the back for your cards that you can access with a pull tab. You pull the tab and your cards come right out so that you don’t have to dig your fingers in to reach them. You then push your cards in and the tab gets pushed in with it. Admittedly, the red isn’t the best color for a tab in my opinion, but it gets the job done.
As someone who maximizes credit card bonuses as a hobby, I naturally have many cards that I carry. However, I only really need a handful of those cards on a daily basis. This minimalist wallet really helped my inner hoarder organize so that I only walk around with the cards that I need.
Serman Brands says that this wallet will hold 6-8 cards. I carry around 9 comfortably, but 2 of those are insurance and Metro Cards, which are half as thin as normal cards. Here’s how I break it down:
- Front slot: 1 Main Use card
- Front-inner slots: 1 card in each of the 2 slots
- ID slot: 1 Driver’s License, 1 Metro Card, 1 Insurance Card
- Pull tab slot: 3 Cards
My friend who I gifted this wallet to carries around 12 or so cards with him. This wallet fits those cards perfectly. The only drawback is that as this is a leather wallet, once you stretch out a slot with 2 cards, you’re going to have to always have 2 cards in that slot to prevent them from sliding out.
Plan ahead and don’t stretch out slots if you don’t have to.
In terms of cash, I usually have a single bill with me, but I’ve also had 20+ bills inside the clip with no issue holding it.
Having this much cash of course adds bulk to the marketed 0.5 inch thickness, but it’s still way smaller than normal bifold wallets.
Amazon lists the product dimensions as 4 x 2.8 x 0.5 inches. Naturally, the half-inch thickness will increase with more cash, but it still remains thinner than my old wallet. Here is a side to side comparison of the two. The Serman minimalist wallet fits so comfortably into my jeans. No more unseemly pocket bulges.
I purchased this at $34.99, but currently it’s only $29.99 on Amazon. This is a good deal especially because the original manufacture price was $59.99. Plus, it’s eligible for Prime Shipping.

Serman Brands’ wallet comes with an RFID blocker. In today’s world where we carry around cards with chips in them that can be scanned without a swipe, it’s important to make sure that a scammer doesn’t stand next to you on the subway and steal your information without you even knowing it. An RFID blocker will prevent that from happening.
Serman Brands quotes, “Our wallets are equipped with advanced RFID SECURE Technology, a unique metal composite, engineered specifically to block 13.56 MHz or higher RFID signals and protect the valuable information stored on RFID chips from unauthorized scans.”
Every purchase of the wallet comes with a 12-Month Warranty. The policy states: “The SERMAN BRANDS Warranty covers any factory defects as a result from the manufacturing process of the product.”
They aren’t lying about this. Within a week, I noticed some greasiness in my ID slot that other reviewers did not mention. When I emailed SERMAN about it, they responded within the hour that it may be adhesive from manufacturing, and without my even asking, they gave me a tracking number for a replacement wallet. The replacement wallet arrived in a few days and was in perfect condition. They told me to keep the other one too.
One of the only negatives to this wallet is that it stretches out, so if you’re someone who carries around more than 10 cards, be sure that you always carry that same amount. Otherwise, you’ll start dropping cards left and right. As this is a leather wallet, it also tends to collect scratches. Most of these can be buffed out or fade away, but just something to keep in mind.
Also, when looking at alternatives to this wallet, watch out for copycat products. There are several competing brands that sell an identical looking wallet for cheaper. However, I stayed away from those wallets because their reviews were not as good, and you’ll notice that most of their images are poorly photoshopped edits of Serman’s own original product photos.
I can’t believe I didn’t find this brand sooner. I love pretty much everything about this wallet. It looks sleek, holds all of my cards perfectly, and barely takes up any space in my pockets. The added peace of mind knowing that it has an RFID blocker is a great bonus. The customer service specialists were also so quick and responsive to my inquiry about my wallet defect. When this wallet eventually wears out, which I don’t think will be for a while since this is top notch, I will be sure to look at more minimalist wallets from Serman.
Also, look at this nice packaging they send the wallet in. Perfect for storing your inactive credit cards.
